Default Condition/Burning Build

So out of all the classes I've played, which is all that is available to me (Just Nightfall), I seem to always return to my level 20 paragon. Now I haven't really picked him up in 2-3 months and I was just thinking about applying a new build to him. Generally, its mostly condition pressure with burning being the main condition. Any thoughts/opinions/comments and/or rants are helpful. Thanks!

[skill]Spear of Lightning[/skill][skill]Vicious Attack[/skill][skill]Anthem of Flame[/skill][skill]Blazing Finale[/skill][skill]Crippling Anthem[/skill][skill]Aggressive Refrain[/skill][skill]"Go for the Eyes!"[/skill][skill]Resurrection Signet[/skill]

The only thing that doesn't really belong and I'm kinda weary about is Crippling Anthem. Would it be wise to replace that with [skill]"They're on Fire!"[/skill]?

Imo using cripple in in PvE just isn't worth it. So you should try to stick another elite in there. I would suggest trying Cruel Spear and it's an. Then you should drop one of your attacks since your elite is now Cruel Spear (since it's an attack skill) and replace the remaining attack with an adrenaline based attack (possibly Mighty Throw). With one slot open you can now add in "They're on Fire!". Lastly drop Res Sig for Signet of Return.

In the end your build would look like this.

[skill]Mighty Throw[/skill][skill]Cruel Spear[/skill][skill]Anthem of Flame[/skill][skill]Blazing Finale[/skill][skill]"They're on Fire!"[/skill][skill]Aggressive Refrain[/skill][skill]"Go for the Eyes!"[/skill][skill]Signet of Return[/skill]

Sometimes I like to be able to burn anytime with Anthem of Flame and Spear of Lightning. However, Cruel Spear is a great option.

Also, I just put the res sig in there because I forgot about signet of return.

Will 2 attacks be alright? Or should it be bumped up to 3?

2 attacks should be perfectly fine. With Aggressive Refrain's IAS and Might Throw's 2 adrenaline cost it will make Mighty Thrown quite spammable.

Even with your focus on burning 'There's Nothing To Fear' would seem better then 'They're on Fire'. Does basicly the same but with a group heal every 10 sec on top, plus it works vs non burning targets. Unless the extra 5e is an issue which shouldnt be the case using 2 adrenaline based attacks, and assuming this is a PvE build. If its PvP then the whole thing doesnt apply obviously.

I bring both They're on Fire! and There's Nothing to Fear!. Especially if you're running with one or two SF heroes. Luluh's spear helps fan the flames.

[skill]Mighty Throw[/skill] -> [skill]Spear of Lightning[/skill].
[skill]Anthem of Flame[/skill] -> There's Nothing To Fear!.

Mighty Throw is only really useful if you're attacking enemies that are furthur away and are running around where you would need the three times moving faster spear. Otherwise, your auto-attacks will do more damage and build adrenaline faster. Spear of Lightning is just a staple for damage dealing, hitting for close to 100 against a soft target on a 6 second recharge. Also, without any energy attacks on the bar you aren't taking advantage of Go For The Eyes! at all except as an energy engine. In which case, he'd be better off going /W and speccing into tactics for Watch Yourself!.

Anthem of Flame is redundant with Blazing Finale. Your bar would now have one skill that breaks your stride, allowing you to build adrenaline quickly to go nuts with GftE! and trigger Blazing Finale. The only reason not to have There's Nothing To Fear! would be if there is a second paragon in the party.

Attribute wise, I'd go 12 + 2 Spear Mastery, 10 + 1 + 1 Leadership, and 8 + 1 Command. Paragons never get attacked, it's safe to run a major.

sorry, but mighty throw is much better than you give the skill credit for. same +dmg as executioners, for less adrenaline. just add an adrenaline buff skill, like [skill]"For Great Justice!"[/skill] 1 hit and you have adrenaline to propetually use mighty throw. i use that tactic in alliance battles, usually always 80+ dmg vs softies, or rangers/dervs w/o armor buffs.

hope people can think about skills before saying its crap.

What you are missing is you can auto attack twice within the 3 seconds it takes mighty throw. The dmg is even but its dmg compaction for spiking. If you do not plan to spike mighty throw is useless and a waste of a skill slot.

80+ damage every 3 seconds is not going to kill anything. You're using two skills to do what? DPS as much as an autoattacking axe warrior?

I have, it's good for hitting kiting targets that are far enough away that your autoattacks would stray. Otherwise, your normal attacks are going to do as much damage over the same period of time (and you get to build more adrenaline). I wouldn't even consider it good for spiking, unless you really want to make your target that obvious. Not to mention that your follow-up to Mighty Throw would arrive long after it hits with that flight speed times three.

I wrote a thread on a build that I used for some time and found to be quite nice.

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10168420

For those that dont want to read the more detailed guide I'll post the build here.

I'd drop Barbed Spear for Save Yourselves!. You've dedicated your entire bar to defense except for that skill. Your 6 DPS from bleeding won't be as noticable as +100 AL.

seems like you guys are having trouble deciding an elite for the Save Yourselves, There's Nothing to Fear paragorn.
Focused Anger, faster adrenaline gain, a killer with Aggresive Refain. along with Spear of Fury it's basically free adrenaline whenever you want...
Cruel Spear/Stunning Spear, do have some dmg go along with the defense. hybrid paragorn is awsome... and 10 adrenaline for Stunning Spear is easily achieved even without Focused Anger(they're both elites) Spear of Fury+Aggresive Refain is enough to have it on high availability...
Defensive Anthem would be overkill on defense.
however if you focus your entire skill bar on adrenaline, besides TntF you could try the underused skill The Power is Yours. if your only energy skill is TntF you can power it up easily with shouts/chants/echoes, so you can afford The Power is Yours... however this option is very unpopular and you guys will probably argue that -8 energy degen(-10+2 natural) completely kills TntF but I say that if enough shouts/chants/echoes are spammed(which they should be with infinity adrenaline, use signet of aggresion if you insist) you should still have enough energy to power up TntF every 20 seconds. and thus be both a battery and a defense RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO for your entire team.
